Definitely a companion

This was the knife I have been looking for since I remebr my dad had one when I was a kid. Its with me everywhere I go and definitely places a larger knife was unnecessary or not allowed. Fine craftsmanship, a functional art piece of simplicity. Thank you.

Companion

Had a knife of similar design. When its lock spring broke , I bought a Christy Companion. It is far better made and a great pocket knife.

It was flawless in all respects.I was thinking about my Uncle Fred Jennings who died in 1970.He gave me my first Knife, guns and swords. The knife was a Christy Safety knife,he said he had for 10 years and he wanted me to keep it another 10.Well I was 8 in 1959 and I had it until I was about 12-13 and something went wrong with the lock when I was visiting old friends with my folks and I managed to take it apart with no proper screwdriver and cleaned it up but figured on reassembling it at home with my Dads watch screwdrivers and placed the parts in a ash try on a parlor table.
Well being a kid I kid involved in something else and forgot to take the parts home.I was scared to tell anyone about my foolishness and it was months before we visited again. When we did I went to the parlor table and the ash tray was gone.At that point I inquired of its whereabouts and receives little interest on the matter,Adults didn't have a lot to say to kids in those days.
Well this all came back to me while thinking about my Uncle and I remembered the Christy name on the knife and checked a couple places I deal with as I collect knives now,AAPK and ARIZONA custom knives etc.and nothing turned up.So for the hell of it I googled Christy Safety Knife and by God you are still around and making the same knife right here in Ohio! I am so happy anymore to find anything from my formative years still with us.
A similar thing happened to me a couple years ago with Gerstner Tool Chests in Dayton,Ohio.
